Duet Group is pleased to announce the formation of Trade Finance Investment Management
Duet Private Equity Limited (“DPEL”), the emerging markets private equity manager owned by Duet Group, and Capetra Global Consulting Limited (“Capetra”) are pleased to announce the creation of Trade Finance Investment Managers Limited (“TFIM”), a new dedicated trade finance company focused in emerging markets.
Created by Sylvia Solomon, Capetra combines the expertise of Jim Prouty and other seasoned investment professionals, dedicated to generating robust risk-adjusted returns in Emerging Markets. With a team based in London, United Kingdom and Accra, Ghana, Capetra will bring experience in trade finance and its strong belief in the importance of integrating an ESG investment framework into the trade finance structuring and investment process. The Capetra team will run day to day trade finance operations integrated within TFIM.
Jim Prouty is a native of New York residing in London. He has over 40 years’ of international corporate and investment banking experience gained primarily at Bank of America where he was SVP and Head of Continental Europe, and then as President of the Heller International Group operating in 22 countries in Asia, Latin America and Europe. Most recently he was CEO of Sustainability-Finance Real Economies a private equity fund investing in sustainability-focused small and medium-sized banks globally. During the last six years, Jim has also been Chairman of Bhartiya Samruddhi Finance Limited in India and a Director of BASIX Ltd., a holding company in India which oversees eight livelihood development companies operating across India.

Sylvia Solomon is an investment professional with over 30 years’ experience of managing money. Sylvia spent 16 years at Baring Asset Management at the start of her career, where she ran US$4bn in European and Global Equities and managed the award-winning Baring German Growth Trust. Subsequently, at Hermes Investment Management, Sylvia launched and managed the European Small Cap Equity Fund. She also developed and launched Gulf International Bank (UK) Ltd’s Shariah and non-Shariah trade finance offering.
Sylvia chairs the CFA UK ESG Panel, responsible for the innovation and development of the Society’s ESG curriculum. She led the launch of the Certificate in ESG Investing, in consultation with ESG practitioners from leading firms and supported by the United Nations organisation, Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).
